A cultural sailing boat project by Haltmeier, Rehn, and Witty

Haltmeier, Rehn, and Witty explore feminist role models, coming-of-age stories about the rebellion of young women and their self-liberation, both individually and as a team. In 1990, Tracy Edwards not only braves the forces of nature in the Southern Ocean but also sets sail against patriarchal resistance with the first all-female crew. A piece is developed from evocative images and biographies of female sailors since the 1980s, incorporating movement workshops, textual work, improvisation with voice-based sounds, and a loop station.

Photos and videos provide insights into the working phase in Nuremberg, an excursion to the Baltic Sea near Greifswald, and a letter to the British sailor Tracy Edwards.
